Buffet in Tuscan Red with Dark Wax

I bought this buffet months ago and it has been sitting in the garage. This piece was put on hold because it needed sanding and winter came and went. Thanks to the warmer weather and spring, I was able to drag it out and finish it. I was torn on what color to paint it but I decided to try a color I haven’t used.

I used tuscan red (general finishes milk paint) and sealed with dark wax (annie sloan).
I love this shade of red!

This red is so striking. It’s so deep but has the faintest hint of orange. I was going to add a black glaze but at the last minute I used a dark wax. The only reason I went that route was because I didn’t want to glaze AND wax. I was able to get the same look as glaze but with one less step.helen nichole designsI had to make a stop at Trader Joe’s for fresh flowers. My all-time favorite flowers were there…I love ranunculus! Trader Joe’s has the best deals on fresh flowers.
