Faux Fireplace & Mantel: Before & After

It’s such a compliment when a client becomes a repeat client!  I did a changing table for Celeste and it snowballed into other jobs (which I can’t wait to share with you).

Her home is gorgeous and glamorous and….personal. When I was given a tour of her home I asked her if I could come back and take pictures. Houses with a style like hers must be shared with others!  She has this amazing antique mantel from the 1840’s that she had custom fit to the wall.  It was painted white and distressed but it wasn’t the look she wanted.

Sometimes you have to ask a client to to trust you, take everything they have told you they want and turn it into reality.

I knew what she wanted. I saw her vision… I just needed to execute it for her.

I mixed a custom color of General Finishes seagull grey and persian blue.
The ratio was 1 pint seagull gray and 1/4 pint persian blue.
It was a little more blue than what we wanted so I made an executive decision to dry brush.
It was perfect. It brought out so much detail in the wood.
Here’s a side-by-side to see how great it looks compared to before.
The opposite side of the room is the sitting area. She has the cutest gallery wall!
There are so many different elements and textures.
Someone really wanted to be included!
How cute is Little Miss. C ?!
I’ll be sharing pictures of the nursery and other rooms over the next couple of weeks.
Get ready to be inspired by her style!
